About Guest House Motel & RV Park and Reviews
Second time we have stayed here while traveling Interstate 10. The park is flat, clean and neat. All facilities worked without any difficulty. The dog really loved the exceedingly large fenced off leash area where she could run and chase birds forever! This is THE place to stay when traveling through the area.
We have been here long term and it's the only place to stay, in my opinion. It's by far, the nicest RV park in Van Horn. Amazing views, super nice owners and managers and a clean and safe place to stay. There are several VH sheriff deputies that live here and make it feel safe. 4 washers and 2 dryers make laundry easy and quick.
We were pleasantly surprised by how nice this RV Park is - perfect for a one night stop while traveling on I-10. Sites have full hookups, trees, and are well spaced out. There are several private bathrooms with showers, and everything was clean. We would definitely recommend this park.
Rate: or so for one night. Flat, extra long spaces, all full hook-ups, lots of spaces. Good for over nighter - nothing to see, just flat desert land. Don't plan on any of the amenities being usable or up to date. Read on....Problems: 1.) when we called to reserve a spot, I forgot to ask about the Good Sam rate. When we checked in, I mentioned that we were Good Sam RVers and wanted the discount. Without batting an eye,she said "yeah, I already gave you the Good Sam rate." So I am to believe they give everyone that call the GS rate, and if that's true - then there really is no GS discount - they just charge everyone the same rate! That means the rate I was quoted WAS their normal rate. GS should not allow them to do that (although I suspect GS doesn't know).2.) the park has one trash drop spot - as I said big, big park - the trash dispenser is far away from most rv spots, and not near the primary exits or entrances! It would be easier to take the trash with you - which may be the desired result. (Trash hauling costs.)3.) then the gal tells me the shower entrance door recently broke and they have ordered a part - but the parts aren't in yet - so, she warns, be careful when you go to take a shower. Once inside, she said, you'll be fine - it's the entrance door that has the problem. We didn't use the showers, so I can't speak of their condition, but on my long walk to the trash I did walk by the shower door entrance!! It had been broken so long the duct tape used to hold the glass together was sun baked and brittle! If they did order the part or parts needed to fix the door they need to complain about the time it's taking for the parts to come in. Bottom line, I don't think they are going to fix the door - but it sounds better to say "it just broke," rather than "we're letting the place run down, I hope you don't mind!"4.) Internet- we have our own, so we wouldn't have used theirs anyway - however since nothing she told me so far held true - I'll mention that she also told me the Internet was out - they had a call in for that to be repaired too. The guy was supposed to have been their that day - but didn't show. Take that for what it's worth - maybe they were working to get it fixed, maybe it had just gone out - but if it was anything like the shower room door- I wouldn't hold my breath that it was going to repaired quickly or even at all. Even if I was looking for a spot to just park for the night - I stay at one of the other area rv parks! Just on principle.
Nice and clean place . Easy to find from I20 and check in was easy even though we got there late.

The BEST! I was able to make a reservation after hours, by phone. I knew I would arrive late, and was given instructions about picking a spot & where the bath & showers were. And they are very clean, private and well-maintained. There is a great area, fenced, where my dogs could exercise off leash, which they really enjoyed. There is a beautiful view of the mountains in Mexico too. Proprietors are friendly and helpful. The 30 amp hook up on my new camper wasn't working but I worked around that with a 120 amp extension cord. It was cool enough at night in late May that I was comfortable without AC. I will definitely stay there again if I am in the area!
If u need a place to stop in between El Paso and San Antonio the sm town of Van Horn can accommodate. Passed hotels and a couple of Rvbparks in this area. We arrived about 1:30 am to this rv park, there was an neon "open" sign at the office but it was not. However, there was a drop box with some designated open spots and instructions. Pull in is good. We did not use the facilities other than the hook up, so cannot attest to those. There is ample notice of the exit to take off of I-10, even at night. for a night. Met our basic needs. There seemed to be a lot of semi-permanent rvs parked.
Great place to stop for the night. Very clean and sites are roomy. Nice views. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the showers are private and spotless. There is highway noise and distant train sounds, but overall a great experience. We will stay here again on our way to or from points west.
Great place to overnight. Extra Big Rig Friendly!! Lots are huge and long. Place is very clean and well kept.
We found our way to Mountain View RV after bailing on reservations in Fort Davis at a less savory place. Mtn View was everything we were looking for, they had nice, flat pull through spots, and lots of clean bathrooms, each with their own shower. The place is huge, their sign says 'no rig is too big', and they're next to the interstate for easy access. The resort was quiet, even with the interstate close by, and the owner was friendly and accommodating for our last minute needs.
This is a great park. The staff is exceptional and extremely friendly. The spaces are large and level. The paved road thought out the park is very large. It is not asphalt but gravel road base throughout so dirt and dust is not a issue. It was very easy to maneuver throughout the entire park even in a 45 foot coach pulling a tow car. The trees are cut back. The electric outlets are all newly renovated and WiFi and cable are included and the entire park is very well maintained. I highly recommend this park. It is extremely easy access from the 10 freeway east or west bound in Van Horn Texas. I love there slogan: " NO RIG IS TO BIG "This park can definitely handle it
Best park in the area. We stopped at 2 others on the way here. They do not offer much of a discount, but you get what you pay for. Lots of room, friendly staff. This is where the LARGE coaches go. Easy in & out. They have free cable & Internet, ice machine . No pool. But saw they had a area for the horse people to coral their horses for the night. Some really nice horse trailers were stopped here.If you have Class A just go straight here. It was for the night. Well worth it. I like using my Passport America when I can. No PA, but nice park. All gravel they had rain the day we arrived and tires did get dirty. Would stay here again!
What a wonderful spot! I called from outside El Paso and wondered if getting there after dark would be a problem? No! Come on in! We arrived at 930 and check in was a breeze and she let told which spots/rows I could choose from and we were set up and cooling down within 20 minutes of exiting the fwy! And you can't miss their location with BIG BIG BIG signs guiding you in! Easy pull thru spots with small night light at connections post made for super painless setup. We paid for the night and will stay again if passing this way in the future. Enjoy!
This is the place to stay.Big and clean park with individual bathrooms and showers. Great and interesting hosts full of first class Texas hospitality! They recommended and drove us to a local (very good) restaurant, and picked us up when we were done; NICE!
One of the best rv places we've been to! 100% pull through spots. Big dog park with grass and trees. Spots have lighted electric boxes that have all been updated. Management is extremely friendly and open 24 hours to help with any needs. Showers, bathroom and laundry are clean and well kept. Wifi and cable included and work well.
Considering you are in the middle of nowhere, we were pleasantly surprised at how clean and enough room for large rigs. Tall trees for shade and owners very friendly. If in Van Horn area, only place I would stay.
This place is really nice to pull into. Easy off I-10. The lady in the office was very nice. The lots are all pull through and level and nice. We only spent one night here but it was worth it. Our dog was welcomed. The campsite was clean and spacious. We had full hookups at a good price. At 8pm, it was the only campground that answered their phone. We were told it's under new ownership. We will come back here again.
Great little park with all pull-through gravel lots. Full hook-ups with wifi and cable. The management is super-friendly, even offered to run us into town to a local restaurant and come back to get us when we are done. Great value! for a really clean space, clean private restroom/showers and well kept laundry facilities. We will stay here again for sure next time we are in this area.
This RV park is great for big rigs. Since I am 65' long, 43' coach with 22' trailer, this is one of the easiest places to get in and out of from I-10 either from the East or West. The park has wide streets, which make it easy to maneuver to your spot, and the park is extremely well maintained. All spots are level and spacious. The staff is great. If you do not want to disconnect, they are happy to bring you into town to a restaurant and pick you up. My wife wanted some ice cream and I did not want to off load my car, so I asked if someone could bring me to get some ice cream for her, and they were more than happy to help, which probably saved my marriage. Now that is outstanding service.I have been using their services every time I am near Van Horn TX, which is about 4 times a year, and I intend to continue to use their services for a long time.I would recommend the park highly to anyone.
Great place. We pulled in around dinner time and while checking in the receptionist mentioned that if we didn't want to unhook our Jeep they would provide transportation to and from local restaurants. She did mention only one Resturant in Van Horn was opened on Sunday night, though. We took her up on her offer and was dropped off and picked up by a charming young man. The ribeye steak, potatoes, green beans, salad and coffee were great at the Cattleman's Club. The park is spacious, nice view of mountains, facilities clean- family owned and the fact that they take pride in the park is obvious. We camped in a 38 ft motor-coach and would stay here again.
